I have made some small updates to the Bianchi Project 1 cockpit area. I swapped out the quill stem for an adjjustable aluminum stem. I don't have a bunch of spare quill stems in the parts bin so this give me some flexibility to try out some different bar heights. I'm definitely not saving any weight here though. I also swapped the SRAM MRX-100 grip shifters with some cheap Microshift thumb shifters and some ergonomic grips from my parts bin. The grip shifters are not my favorite form factor, and the original grips were quite worn. These grips give me a bit more space to rest my palms. The new shifters are not perfect, but a step in the right direction. I also added an accessory bar for my bell, camera, and lights. The original handlebar is only 580mm wide and does not leave much space in the middle for accessories. The Dia Compe brake levers are now working just fine after a thorough cleaning. I am also keeping the bar ends for now since they give me another grip position. I also added my usual extra large Goody hair tie to hang my glasses. This is only a temporary state to make the bike a bit more comfortable while I figure out what handlebars to put on the bike.
