MotoRadds Camera Mount Review

helmets cameras

Now that I have a new full face bicycle helmet, I needed a new camera mount to record my rides. I really liked the chin mount setup that I had on my motorcycle helmet. I found the chin mount to be the most convenient place for the camera. I could turn the camera on and off and adjust settings without having to take my helmet off. I just wanted to replicate that setup on my new helmet. My Virgo helmet does not have the real estate on the chin bar for most of the common mounts. I had to find something that would fit in less that one inch of vertical height on the chin bar. I found the MotoRadds Flex Slim camera mount on Amazon. I bought the white version to match my helmet.

In The Box

  • Flexible camera mount
  • Short extension
  • Cleaning wipes for helmet prep
  • Instruction cards

Installation

The installation process is relatively simple. The mount attaches with double stick tape. I have to admit that I probably spent more time that I should have making sure that it was exactly centered.

The mount has a flexible metal strip so I was able to mold the mount to the chin bar and do a test fit before making a commitment on the location. The kit includes a warning to bend the ends in so I gave each side a slight roll on the last quarter inch. I was able to get a perfect fit on the chin bar. That camera mount is not going anywhere. I did swap the short extension bar with a slightly longer curved bar so I could get my camera into a better position for my vision requirements.

Overall Impression

I have to say that I am very impressed with this camera mount. I was able to mold it to the shape of the helmet, and it is very secure on the helmet. I would buy this again for other full face helmets. I also like supporting a small business.
